Discussion of birthplace & year: Mary was born in the colonies, probably in Pennsylvania, and almost certainly not in German speaking Europe. Corroborating documents and facts:
Her father John Gerritt/Jarett was living in Germantown in 1711, some 10 years before her birth, having purchased property from the VanBibber heirs in April, and from Henry Cunrads (son of Thönes Kunders) in March of that year. [1]
John Gerritt and Mary Lukens' marriage is recorded in the Abingdon Monthly Meeting in November of 1712, and so Mary Jarrett's parents were married in Pennsylvania. It is therefore unlikely that she was born in German speaking Europe as was listed here previously. [2]
I haven't yet gone through all of Abington's MM records, so do not as yet have a listing of their children from the Quaker records, however, she should have been at least 15 or 16 at the point where Mary Jarrett married Joseph Kenderdine after Sep 1738, when the Abington MM cleared their marriage to proceed.
