"William Pine Jeffers was born near Batavia, Clermont, Ohio (near Cincinnati, Ohio) in 1829. He was a small boy when his parents moved to Pike County, Illinois. After reaching years of maturity he was married in Illinois to Miss Martha Potter. The started their domestic life on a farm belonging to his maternal grandfather, William Pine. After living there for several years, around 1865, he purchased a farm from his brother Carson Jeffers, upon which he made his home for twenty years. It was around 1884, he sold the farm and purchased land near Aurora Nebraska where he and his wife spent their remaining years. William Pine and Martha Potter Jeffers had 14 children all natives of Pike County, Illinois."

He came to Pike County in 1837 where he eventually married Martha Potter. Three of their children died in infancy there. They moved to Aurora, Hamilton County, NE. in 1884. All 14 of their children were born in Pike County, IL. William and Martha farmed his grandfather Pine's farm for several years then bought a farm from Williams' brother John Carson Jeffers. Stayed there for 20 years when he sold this farm in 1884 and moved his family to Aurora, NE."
