Biography

Allen Vincent "Vince" Jennings, son of James Jennings and Melinda (Dunning) Jennings, was born 15 March 1861 in Christian County, Kentucky. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]} The birth date inscribed on his tombstone was 15 March 1860. In the 1860 Census, his parents appear without him, validating that he was born after the census enumeration (23 August 1860). ^[7]

The 1880 census, places Vince living in Charleston, Hopkins, Kentucky and working as a farm laborer on Jonathan Jackson Wilkey's farm.

He married Cornelia P Franklin on 8 September 1880 in Madisonville, Hopkins, Kentucky. They were married by J. R. Franklin at the house of C. J. Franklin, witnessed by Watson Dockery and H Burton. ^[8] The marriage bond shows that Cornelia was 15 (actually 14) and Allen was 22. ^[3] They were the parents of seven children, four lived to adulthood. ^[6]

He died 24 September 1940 (hypertensive heart disease) in Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Kentucky and was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs. ^{[2] [9]}
