Biography
Karine Jensdatter, daughter of Jens E Haagensen and Mathea Pedersdatter, was born on 6 September 1879 and baptised on 26 October 1879 in Østre Toten, Oppland, Norge.[1]
In the 1891 census Karine (age 12) was a datter (daughter) in Ø. Totens, Østre Toten, Oppland, Norge (Norway).[2]

Karoline emigrated with her mother & sisters on May 19, 1893, arriving in Quebec, Canada before proceeding west to Minnesota, United States.[3]
Karine was confirmed on October 13, 1895 at Borgund Lutheran Church in Madison, Minnesota, United States.[4]
In about 1910 she married Oscar Klingberg/Klingbeil. Not much is known about him. It's possible he deserted the family, as he didn't show up on any census records with the family, and only two children were born to the family, William & Myrtle.
In the 1920 census Carrie (age 40) was the married head of household in Great Falls Ward 2, Cascade, Montana. She was a Laundress with two children. Their family surname was transcribed incorrectly as Klingbird/Bird.[5]
