Worked during the Great Depression in the CCC and WPA. A welder by trade, which he probably learned in the CCC.
An enlarged heart kept him out of military service, during WWII, so he drove truck for Red River Arsenal, moving bombs and other ammunition.
Fishing was his greatest hobby, other then drinking.
Ralph was married twice more, after the divorce, no issue.

Regardless of ALL the trees on other sites that have my father as Ralph Benjamin, HE WAS NEVER NAMED BENJAMIN. That was my mother's doing. She filled out our birth certificates as Ralph Benjamn Jester as father.
Its not on any of his 3 marriages. Its not on his divorce papers. Its not on his Draft Registration. Not on his Social Security. Not on his Death Certificate. Not on his headstone. Its not in Granny's Bible. Nor his Delayed Certificate of Birth. And its not on the Census, except for the one time in 1950 when Mama gave the info.
