Peter Jibson was born in Yorkshire, England.
This profile is part of the Eastrington, Yorkshire One Place Study.
Peter was born in 1856[1] in Sandholme, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised nearby in Eastrington. He was the son of Richard Prince Jibson and Ann Healas.[2]

In 1861 the family lived at Club Hill House in Sandholme, where Peter's father was a farmer.[3] By 1871 they lived at the Black Bull inn in Burton on Stather, Lincolnshire.[4][5]

Peter married Annie Elizabeth Gibson in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1877. He worked as a joiner.[6][7] At the time of the 1881 census Peter boarded with the Simpson family in York, Yorkshire.[8] Annie and their daughter, Ann, were staying with Annie's parents in Sheffield.[9]
