Notes for MATTHEW/ MATHIAS JOHNSON: Mathew/Mathias Johnson served in the Rev War. Pvt. under Captain Childs in the10th Continental Regiment of North Carolina. John Johnson, a wife and two small sons, Matthew and John arrived in the colonies from Scotland.They landed at the Port of Charles Town in the Province of South Carolina 1753.They then went to the Cape Fear District of North Carolina, an area settled by many scotch men.
