Eleanor Johnston was born December 1852 in Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of James Johnston and Hannah Sidey[1] and died 1927. She was buried in Hyde Park Cemetery in Neche, Pembina County, North Dakota[2]
On 5 November 1872, in Stanhope, Peterborough, Ontario, she married John Fitzsimons, son of Henry Fitzsimons and Catherine Morrison and brother of Margaret Fitzsimons, who married Eleanor’s brother John[3] They emigrated to the United States in 1882. In 1900, she reported that she had had seven children and that five were still living
