Biography

Euine Fay Jones Sr., born on January 30, 1893, in Holly Springs, Dallas County, Arkansas, was the son of James Washington Jones and Mary Matilda (Dean) Jones. In the early 1900s, he resided in Freeo Township, Ouachita County, Arkansas, where he worked as a farm laborer on the family farm. On January 26, 1917, he married Candie Louise Alston in Calhoun County, Arkansas, and the couple settled in Thornton, Calhoun County.

By 1920, Fay Jones Sr. had moved to Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas, where he found employment as a salesman at a dry goods store. In 1930, he was living in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas, working as a salesman at a shoe store. He later relocated to Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, where he resided in both 1940 and 1942. In Little Rock, he continued his work, although specific details of his occupation during this period are not mentioned.

Tragically, Euine Fay Jones Sr. passed away on June 19, 1951, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, due to cardiac failure. He found his final resting place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, leaving behind a legacy within his family and the communities where he lived.
