Benjamin is named in Tyler's biography (v 5, page 607) of Elisha Keen Jones, which gives his (Elisha's) lineage:
- Great-grandfather Dr. Benjamin Jones
- Grandfather Thomas Jones of Henry County, Virginia (I think Dr. Benjamin too), married "Miss Lyle" - 8 children
- Father Dr. Bartlett Washington Jones - born 1814 at "the Jones Creek homestead, Henry county, Virginia, and there died in 1858, aged forty-four". Married (1) Elizabeth Ann Keen, who died in 1854, (2) Pauline Henry see Tyler's bio for more info
