Some family trees have her as the daughter of Thorvald Jonsson instead of Jon Thorvaldsson. The trees naming her Jonsdottir seem to be in majority, often have more information about the family (such as their occupations) and include trees made in Iceland, while the ones naming her Thorvaldsdottir are made elsewhere. This suggest that she is far more likely a Jonsdottir than a Thorvaldsdottir. - Østenstad-1 08:54, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
Íslendingabók: Húsfreyja á Þykkvabæjarklaustri. „Kvenna minnst og ófríðust“, segir Espólín. Hann segir hana einnig Þorvaldsdóttur, Jónssonar.

According to 'Íslendingabók' the source of the confusion about her paternity is from the work of 'Espolin'. The other source they give is 'Lögréttumannatal' by Einar Bjarnason (1952–1955). <ref name="Islendingabok">'Ingveldur Jónsdóttir' (Abt. 1525). Thorvaldsdottir-3 and Jonsdottir-162 appear to represent the same person because: Reasonably clear duplicates. Jonsdottir appears to be the correct patronymic -assuming the Geni family tree, which seems based on Islendingaboka, is correct
