Biography

Welsh flag
Eunice (Kendrick) Cahoon has Welsh ancestors.

Eunice Kendrick was the daughter of Solomon Kendrick and Elizabeth Atkins of Harwich, Massachusetts[1] [2]. Her birth date is estimated based on her place in the sequence of children listed in the Mayflower Descendant, after her brothers John, born 1740, and Benjamin (maybe 1742), and before Joseph, born 1746.

Circa 1762, she moved to Barrington, Nova Scotia along with her family[3]

Sometime after 1766, she married Reuben Cohoon [1], a widower, the son of James Cohoon and Mary Rich of Harwich. Reuben was also an early proprietor of Barrington. His name first appears in the First Division of property for the township's initial land grant, dated December 1767[3]. Their children included:

  1. Eunice, born April 28, 1766, who may have married Benjamin son of Benjamin Kirby[2] [3]
  2. Asa[3], born April 7, 1767[4]
  3. Moses, born March 14, 1768[5] [2] [3]
  4. Reuben Jr, born September 15, 1770[6], who married first Hephsabah, the daughter of Thomas Crowell, Jr and Sarah Kenney, who died in 1796. In 1798, he married second Clarissa, the daughter of Israel Doane and Desire Nickerson[2] [3]
  5. James born January 22, 1776[7], who married Thankful, daughter of David Smith and Thankful Godfrey[2] [3]
  6. Daniel[3]
  7. Solomon[3]

Eunice (Kendrick) Cohoon, wife of Reuben Cohoon, wife of Solomon and Betty Kendricks died February 24, 1777 in Barrington[8]
