William was a soldier in the Mexican War of 1847. He died and was buried near Buena Vista in 1847. A memorial marker is at Elmwood Cemetery, Litchfield, Montgomery, Illinois.[1]
According to Find A Grave, his wife was Elizabeth McBride, b 28 May 1818 in Tennessee and d 14 Oct 1882 at Litchfield, Montgomery, Illinois.
They were the parents of Willis Franklin Kissinger, 1841-1904.
