DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:

The 1850 Census records from Arkansas say he was born in 1801 in Tennessee, but does not say where.

Hey Abby, There is nothing about a will in his research. I have never heard of it. Let me know what you find out!

Sorry to be a bother-no rush on responses. I just to be drawn to profiles who get recent attention in the watchlist. Anyway, where is Joseph's birth year from? Would he have had another wife prior to Eliza, as she is much younger than he? Most of my research is on their daughter, Elizabeth, so I am not as familiar with Joseph and Eliza.

Trib,I have no clue what sources you and Raymond tracked down for these, and I am guessing you have followed about every lead possible already. Just doing some internet searching this morning and wondered if either of you had looked at the will for a John King, dated July 1 1798 for Jefferson County, TN. It has no probate date, just the filing date. Book 1, page 54. There are no other King wills listed in Jefferson Co that fall into the proper time frame listed. There is a transcription here: https://sites.google.com/site/familytiesprojectsite/john-king-jr-of-tn Seems Joseph could be a grandchild or nephew or last minute birth after John's death. No mentions are made of a Joseph so far, though. --oy, not to keep changing this, but they are genetically linked somewhere. Just no clue where. https://sites.google.com/site/familytiesprojectsite/john-king-jr-of-tn/kingdna
