James was born in 1867. He was the son of Thomas Knowles and Martha Clayton.

James's birth was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1867 in the Ashton Under Lyne district.[1]

He passed away in 1915.

James Knowles Dead
James Knowles, husband of Eva Knowles, died in Providence last evening after a short illness. Mr. Knowles resided at 342 Hunt street, this city, and is survived by four sons and four daughters, also three sisters and two brothers. The arrangements for the funeral were not complete this noon.
