Biography

Louis Kosch was born in Austria 24 June 1849, the oldest son of John Kosch.

Seward County History states that Alouis Kosch (profiled as "Louis Kosch") was born in Austria on 24 June 1849, the oldest son John Kosch, and was the first of his family to migrate to the United States, followed by his brother John and then "the rest of the family". It is stated that his migration path was Hamburg>Philadelphia>St. Paul>Columbus, Nebraska, "where he first worked on a farm by the month, and before the close of the year 1876 he located in Butler county." Seward County History recounts that he married "Miss Eloise Janicek," daughter of Frank Janicek, in February 1880, and that they were the parents of eight children: Hermann, Anna, William, Louis, Rudolph, Henry, Eloise and Lottie.
