Biography

Helen Palaika, 73, of 215 15th St., Arnold, died today (June 25, 1981) at 3:15 a.m. in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, after a brief illness. She was born March 1, 1908, in Braddock, the daughter of Michael and Helen Kost, and was an Arnold resident 40 years. Mrs. Palaika was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Survivors include her husband, Frank Palaika; a son, Raymond Domanski of Arnold; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Irene) Trinajstich of Norwalk, Calif.; a brother Michael Kost of Braddock; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Domanski, on Dec. 7, 1934; and by three brothers, John, Andrew and George Kost. Friends will be received tonight from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rusiewicz Funeral Home, 1400 Fifth Ave., Arnold, where a blessing service will be conducted Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 in St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. A parish wake service will be conducted tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.^[1]
