Biography

Catharina Magdalena (Catherine Madeleine in French records, also sometimes recorded as Maria Magdalena) was born in 1755 in Bühl, Wissembourg Arrondissement, Bas-Rhin Department in Alsace, France, the daughter of Johann Heinrich Kuntz and Maria Ursula Weingärtner. She married the recently widowed Lorenz Wohlhüter in 1786 at some point before 23 Aug when he was noted as a witness and son-in-law in her mother's death record^[1] Magdalena joined her husband in Kauffenheim where he was a farmer. Lorenz had six children from his previous marriages, and they had four more children together. Lorenz died in 1795 at about age 47. Magdalena never remarried and continued to live in Kauffenheim until her death there in 1828 at the age of 72.
