Biography

Christmann was born in 1787 in Kauffenheim in the Department of Bas Rhin, Alsace, France, the first-born and son of Lorenz Wohlhüter and Catharina Magdalena Küntz. His father was a citizen and farmer in Kauffenheim. Chrismann lived only eight days, dying and being buried in Kauffenheim the same year.

Seiner äeltern sind Lorenz Wohlhüter der Bürger von hier und Catharina Magdalena geb: Kuntzin von Bühl dessen ehelicher Haußfrau. TaufZeugen warin 1) Christmann Halm Bürger und Ackersmann allhier. 2) Johann Martin Rinckel, Michel Rinckel das Bürgers von hier ehelicher lediger sohn. 3) Margarethe Kunzin, Heinrich Kunzen das Bürgers und Küblers von Bühl eheliche ledige Tochter, dem Kind wurde über der Taufe der Name Christmann beÿgelegt. In the year 1787, the 5th February in the morning at about four o'clock a little son was born here and was holy baptized on the same day. His parents are Lorenz Wolhüter, Citizen from here, and Catharina Magdalena née Kuntz from Bühl, his legally married wife. Baptism witnesses were: 1) Christmann Halm, Citizen and Farmer here. 2) Johann Martin Rinckel, the legitimate unmarried son of Michel Rinckel, Citizen from here. 3) Margarethe Kunz, legitimate unmarried Daughter of Heinrich Kunz, the Citizen and Cooper from Bühl. The name Christmann was given to the child at the baptism. Testified as such.

Kunzin von Bühl ehelich erzeugtes 8 Tage alt gewordenes Söhnlein. Es wurde den Tag darauf morgens nach 10. Uhr unserm Kirchen Gebrauch gemäß zur Erde bestattet wie solches bezeugenn.
