Biography

Rebecca was born Sep 1847 in Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana to John P and Sarah (Venkirk) Lacey.

In 1850, when Rebecca was 5 years old, the family was living in Highland Township, Vermillion County, Indiana. Her father was working as a farmer.

On 28 Apr 1864, Rebecca married Abraham Brewer in Vermilion County, IL. Their children were:

1. George Benjamin Brewer 1867-1945
2. Sarah Ella Brewer, later Brown 1868-1952
3. Levito Brewer 1875-
4. Ida M. Brewer, later Keonen 1877-1953
5. William Lacey Brewer 1881-1943
6. Frank Clay Brewer 1886-1950

“MRS. REBECCA BREWER DEAD^[1]

“Mrs. Rebecca Brewer died suddenly this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella B. Brown, 1049 Fifty street. Mrs. Brewer was born in Perrysville, Illinois {sic} in 1847, and was, therefore, 68 years of age. She leaves three sons and two daughters, these being Will T. Brewer, George B. Brewer, Frank C. Brewer, Mrs. Ida M. Keonen and Mrs. Ella B. Brown. The body is at Stephens & Son’s. No funeral arrangements have been made.”
