Biography

John George Leyde was born on 22 April 1796 in Pulaski Township, Lawrence, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Leyde and Margaret Syme.[1]

He married Margaret Clendenning on 11 March 1823 in New Bedford, Lawrence, Pennsylvania.[1] They had eight children.[1]

John George was a sawyer in Pulaski Township, Lawrence, Pennsylvania, in 1850.[2]

They lived in New Bedford Borough, Lawrence, Pennsylvania in 1860, where John was a stone mason.[3]

They lived in Newport, Washington County, Minnesota, in 1870.[4]

John G and Margaret Leyde were both living with the family of their daughter Elizabeth Mary Silvis in Washington County, Minnesota, in the 1875 Minnesota State Census.[5]

John George passed away on 29 July 1875[1] in West Saint Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota.
