Biography

Mary Lambert married Henry Josselyn, as his second wife, on 9 Nov 1685 in Gloucester.^[1][2][3][4] Their children were:

1. Ebenezer, b. 31 Jul 1686^[5], d. 20 Nov 1686^[6]
2. Margaret, b. 4 Aug 1687^[5]
3. Mary
4. Constantine, b. 14 Sep 1691^[5]
5. Benjamin, b. 5 Jul 1695^[7]
6. Mercy, b. 3 Feb 1702/3^[5]

Her death date is not known.

Research Notes

Mary may have been the daughter of John Lambert and Preserved Gaskoyne, born 1667 in Ipswich.^[8][9] This is a plausible age, and that Mary had a brother Ebenezer while this Mary named her first child Ebenezer.

Others claim she was born 11 March 1658 in Ipswich, daughter of William Lambert, mother unknown, twin to James.^[10][11]

She may be the Mary Joslyn who married, as his second wife, John Elwell Jr., on 7 Jan 1708/09 at Gloucester, Massachusetts.^[12] Since Henry Joslyn's death information is unknown, it's possible but not proven that his wife could have been a widow at that time. The Mary Elwell who died on 26 Dec 1717, age 48, also roughly fits the daughter of John Lambert.
