On Marie's marriage record, her parents are deliberately not named and she does not even have a surname. She is just "Marie fille mineure domicilée en cette paroisse." The groom's parents are named and he received consent from his mother for the marriage; for Marie it says she received consent from her "tuteur." Her witnesses at the wedding were François Lanciau and Godfroy Lanciau, described as "friends."
Marie's Massachusetts death record says that her maiden name was Landry and her parents are "Francois and Unknown." But if she had a legitimate biological father named François Landry, he probably would have been named on her marriage record. Most likely Marie was an orphan.
