Mary Philonise Landry was born on March 13, 1816 in Saint Martinville, St. Martin, Louisiana, United States, daughter of Cyrille Landry (1787–1839) and Scholastique Boudreaux (~1794–1819). Her baptism on 2 June 1816 was recorded at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville.^[1][2]

Phelonise (14) married Michel Bourg (20) (born on September 18, 1810 in Saint Martinville, Orleans Territory; son of Joseph Florent Bourg and Jeanne Félicité Trahan) on December 13, 1830 in Lafayette. ^[3]
