James Lapham was born 11 Feb 1811, the son of Abijah Lapham (1769-1847) & Abigail (Buck) Lapham (1779-1823). He married Sally Moody. Eleven children are listed:

1. James Otis born 1831; married Mary Turner, West Medway, Massachusetts.
2. Abigil born1833; died 1834.
3. Hezekiah born 23 Mar 1834; married Harriett Chase.
4. Amos born 8 Aug 1836; 5th Maine Regiment.

Research Notes

James' burial record includes the information that his wife Sarah died in 1878 aged 66; his son Thomas R died 19 Dec 1866 aged 20 years, 8 months, and his son William F died. 4 Dec 1869 at 19 years, 8 months. ^[8]
