Born in Cleveland, Ohio. Attended Cleveland Public Schools - Halle, Thomas Jefferson Jr. High School, then James Ford Rhodes High School. Stayed local for college at Cleveland State University. Then on to graduate school in Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University. Transitioned to the medical School at Case. Graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. Residency in pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine and was also the chief resident in pediatrics. Stayed on to do a fellowship in Allergy/Clinical Immunology. From there to Detroit, Michigan where I worked at Henry Ford Hospital and was the head of Pediatric Allergy, Clinical Services. Went on to establish an allergy program at Riley Hospital for Children. After almost 25 years there, retired but latched on to a private practice of allergy which I did for 4 years. Now retired. I was honored to have an NIH research grant and was the principal investigator for the Detroit site of the National Cooperative Inner-City Asthma Study. While in Indiana, I worked with asthma projects including the Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition - InJAC. In this work I help established the first Asthma State Plan and ran the organization that was tasked in implementing that plan. I received two public health awards for my work with asthma. With these in-hand I went back to school to get my public health credentials. My interests went towards food allergy. The organization - FARE established our site as a center of excellence for food allergy. I have publications in many different areas of Allergy/Clinical Immunology. Married and with 3 children and now 5 grand children. I have interests in history and have done re-enacting- I was last an Lt. in the Indiana 49th Volunteer Infantry. This being my first day on this site- I plan to add more. Retirement allows the time to pursue these projects
