Ellen was born on the 4th August 1818 the daughter of Archibald Leighton a book binder, and Jane (Kemp) Leighton, and she was christened at St James, Clerkenwell, Middlesex on the 13th September 1818. They were living in Exmouth Street, Clerkenwell, Middlesex.[1]
1841 Census on the 6th June 1841 Ellen was living in Exmouth Street, Clerkenwell, Middlesex with her mother Jane and her siblings Jane, Robert and William.[2][3]
1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Ellen was living in Hammersmith Terrace, Hammersmith, Middlesex, England with her mother Jane and her sister Jane, and Louisa Tews her mother's niece.[4]
1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Ellen was living in Merton Place, Brentford, Chiswick, Middlesex, England with her mother Jane and her siblings Jane and William.[5]
1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Ellen was living with her siblings Jane and William in Chiswick, Middlesex, England.[6]
Ellen died aged 72 in 1890 in Wandsworth, Surrey.[7]
