Biography
Jean was born about 1510. She was the daughter of William Leslie, 7th of Balquhain and his wife Elizabeth Ogilvy, daughter to Ogilvy of Boyne.[1] Her date of birth is calculated from the date of her siblings and her mother's death in 1518. She was the second daughter of five girls, seven children overall.
She is stated[2] to have married Patrick Leith, younger of Edengarioch, Barns, and Likelyhead. These properties were in the Garioch district and held to the Earl of Mar and Garioch and it can be presumed the two were neighbours.
