New Zealand
Clemence (Libeau) Irwin lived in Akaroa, Canterbury, New Zealand.
Clemence (Libeau) Irwin was an immigrant to Delaware (1866).

Clemence was born 1 Apr 1842 at Akaroa. She was the daughter of Joseph Libeau and Magdelaine Chauvet. [1]

In 1864 in New Zealand she married Thomas Byron Irwin, a Pennsylvania native. [3]

Then in 1870 they were living at Crossville, Cumberland, Tennessee. [5]

Her husband passed away some time during that decade.

Research Notes

Note that the 1908 death "Clemence Libeau" is Clémence Rosalie (Gendrot) Libeau (abt.1834-1908).

Clemence shows up as a servant for the Moore family in the 1880 census -- with no children. The children must have gone elsewhere -- perhaps they went into care of some sort after she was widowed.[8]
