Thomas Lister is Notable.

Member of Parliament 1710-1745. A Tory, he consistently voted against the Government, speaking on 7 May 1728 against a vote of credit.

He transferred the family seat from Arnolds Biggin (Westby Hall) to Gisburne Park in Gisburn, which his father had acquired from Sir John Assheton in 1697, and which he rebuilt on a grand scale in 1724.
