I've been researching my family tree since 1996, but I am new to Wikitree. I help manage the Lock & Locke Y-DNA Project at Family Tree DNA, I have traced my Locke (originally Lock) line back to my 5xGGF born about 1696 (date is an assumption/guess based on other evidence) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Colony. My own Y-DNA matches another Locke family here in the USA who trace their Ancestors back to the 1500's in North Molton, Devon, England, although their ancestors migrated to the USA from Chittlehampton, Devon in the 1850's. Trying to bridge this 160-year gap (minimum) and finding the common Lock ancestor has been the focus of both our families for the last 15 years. We are interested in hearing more from Devon Lock/es and encourage Lock/es Y-DNA testing to help us solve this riddle.
