Dear Sir,

Your letter of 4th making inquiry as to myself and family I know of no one by the name Loden except my connection who came from England to this country sometime before the Revolutionary War. My grandfather was John Loden. He was in War. Went from Virginia to War. Later came to South Carolina. My Father's name was William Loden and moved to this place in 1822. Our family lived here until after the late war except my three brothers who moved to Fulton Co, Ark. just before the war. My family has all scattered and gone from here except one son and two nieces.

My Uncle Jesse had two sons, Pollard and George. They went out about Ozark Mountains in Ark. I haven't got the dates.

Uncle James Loden died in 1896. Father died in 1846 in West Tennessee. He was born 1800. I was born in 1844. I was 61 years old Nov 9. I have 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls, names: William Thomas, Walter Theadore, Francis Charleton, Thomas was in Texas when I heard from him last, the other two, Charleton and Theodore live in this place. Uncle James Loden's widow and his five girls live in upper part of Hall Co, Ga. The girls names are, Nancy, India, Sabra, Nancy married Joe Elrod, died, married Barnes. Sallie married Hightower.
