Biography

Hugh Logan was born in 1787, the son of Hugh Logan and Margaret Dickey of Amherst, Nova Scotia[1] [2]

On March 24, 1818, he married Elizabeth Archibald, the daughter of James Archibald and Rebecca Barnhill of Truro[3] [2], and their children included:

  1. Rebecca, born 1819, who married 13 June 1850 James Munro Layton[2]
  2. John, born 1820, who married September 1, 1844 Antoinette Fillmore[2]
  3. Isaac, born 1823, who married June 25, 1852 Hannah Bent[2]
  4. James Archibald, born 1825, who married Hannah Hunter[2]
  5. Hugh, born 3 August 1827 who married 3 July 1861 Annie Layton, and second married Harriet Archibald[2]

Hugh Logan died in 1863, at age 76, and was buried in West Amherst Cemetery[2]
