Umory S. Logsdon was born on 13 Nov 1866, probably in or near Yaquina or Yaquina Bay, then in Benton County, Oregon. He was the eldest child of Jesse Fuqua Logsdon and Mariana Fullquartz.^[1]

By the time he was three, Umory's parents had relocated to the north, near Fort Colville Stevens County in Washington Territory.^[2]

Before 1880, Umory's parents had moved the family south to Columbia County, where his father established a farm.^[3] He was living at home on that farm five years later, when he was about 18 years old.^[4]

In 1900, Umory was working on the farm his mother owned in McKay Precinct, Columbia County, Washington.^[5]

In 1910, Umory lived as a lodger on West Main in Stevens Precinct of the city of Walla Walla in Walla Walla County, Washington, while he earned his living as a well digger.^[6]

In 1940, Umory was living with his married niece, Anita Brown, and her family on their farm in or near the city of Dayton in Columbia County, Washington.^[7] In 1941, he moved to the Robison Nursing Home in Dayton, where he lived until his death on 24 Apr 1945, probably of a heart attack. He was buried in the Dayton City Cemetery on 26 Apr 1945.^[8]
