Biography

This profile is part of the Logsdon Name Study.

Charles E. Logsdon was born on 6 Apr 1876, probably in Stevens County, Washington Territory. He was the son of Jesse Fuqua Logsdon and Mariana Fullquartz.[1]

Before 1880, his family had relocated southwards to Columbia County, where his father established a farm.[2][3]

In about 1898, during the Spanish-American War, Charles voluntered and served as a private in Company M of the 2nd United States Volunteer Engineers.[4]

After he returned home, Charles joined his father and two of his brothers (Fred and Jack) in developing a farm near Spokane in Lincoln County, Washington.[5]

During World War I, he again served as a private, this time in Company A of the 146th MG BN.[6]

Charles married Rosa M. [Unknown] in about 1920.[citation needed]

In 1930, Charles and Rosa lived on Pacific Highway in Josephine County, Oregon.[7]

In 1940, Charles and Rosa were renting a house for $30 per month in East Spokane Township, Spokane County, Washington, where they were employed, working 84-hour weeks, as manager and assistant manager of a tourist camp.[8]

Charles E. Logsdon was widowed when he died on 14 Apr 1958, in Dayton, Columbia County, Washington, where he was buried in the Dayton City Cemetery.[9][10]
