Biography

Jeanne Angélique was born about 1680 in Paris. [1] Her parents are unknown. [2]

Jeanne married Charles Saint-Étienne de La Tour around 1700. [2]

Their children were:

  1. Jean Charles Saint-Étienne de La Tour (1715-bef.1735)
  2. Pierre Charles Saint-Étienne de La Tour (bef.1719-aft.1735)

By 1716, the family was living at Port-Dauphin, Ile Royale. There were 2 children in the household. [2] The following year, only one child was counted in the family home at Port-Dauphin. [2]

She was listed as widow Latour, born in Paris, on the 1734 census in Louisbourg, with one son over 15 years of age, and one servant. [3]

On 10 August 1735, Angélique Laureau, widow of La Tour, in her name and her only son Pierre-Charles, sold to Marie LeBorgne, wife of Alexandre Girouard, a farm in Acadie known as Notre-Dame du Levant, in which deceased Sr La Tour had a seventh part. [2]

She passed away after 9 November 1762. On that day, she appeared before the notary for the King at Chalais, in Saintonge. [2]
