Asa Lovejoy is Notable.

Asa Lawernce Lovejoy was born 14 March 1808, in Townsend, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel and Betsy Lovejoy. [1]

From the Oregon Pioneers of 1843 : "Asa LOVEJOY: was emigrant of 1842; had returned east winter of 1842; was returning to Oregon territory with Dr. Whitman; member of small party organized by Dr. Whitman to travel in advance of wagon train; listed on scout list for 1843"

Asa met Elizabeth (McGary) Lovejoy (1829-1904) on the trail, and the couple married in 1845.

General Asa Lawrence Lovejoy, one of the two founders of Portland, Oregon, was the Attorney General and Chief Justice of Oregon. [2]

He passed away 10 September 1882, in Portland, Oregon. [3]

Lovejoy-220 and Lovejoy-615 appear to represent the same person because: Hi there, I'm related to Asa Lawrence Lovejoy. In addition my grandfather's brother died early in a motor cycle accident in Portland, OR and was burried in the Lovejoy plot in Lone Fir cemetery. I can send you some pics and other information if you are interested. My sources our a family bible and family records. thanks! - thomas C. Hudson
