Biography

Wayne Ward Lyon was born on 20 Jun 1923 in New London, Wisconsin. He was the oldest son of Ward Lyon and Lila Babcock. [1]

On 30 Jun 1942 Wayne filed his WW II Draft registration but was unable to serve due to an accident as a child which left his right hand disabled. [2]

Wayne married Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Leenhouts of Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1957. They had had two children together. She passed away a few years later, in 1961, leaving Wayne and one daughter. Wayne married Nesta Ruth McKee in 1962, who had three daughters. Wayne and his family relocated to Michigan where he worked in the family's small farm and also as the Quality Control Manager for Burwood Products, Inc. of Traverse City until his retirement. He was an active member of the Kingsley Baptist Church until his death. His Grandma Babcock instilled in him a passion for God, as a young child, and it stayed with him throughout his life. [3]

Wayne Ward Lyon passed away on 17 Aug 2009 in Fife Lake, Grand Traverse, Michigan. He is buried at the Burdell Township Cemetery North In Tustin, Osceola County, Michigan. [4]
