Biography

Sophia was born at Henlow Bedfordshire on 23 Feb 1828, and baptised on 30 Mar 1828, the daughter of John Mabbot and Jane Blazeley. Recorded as Mallett.^[1]

In the 1841 census she was living in Henlow, Bedfordshire, with her parents - John Mabbit 40 Ag lab not born in Bedfordshire; Jane Mabbit 35 not b in Beds; Sarah Mabbit 20 Straw plaiter not b in Beds; Elzabeth Mabbit 19 Straw plaiter not b in Beds; Sophia Mabbit 13 born in Bedfordshire; Jane Mabbit 11; Reuben Mabbit 7; Emma Mabbit 4; Eliza Mabbit 1. Last four all b in Beds.^[2]

She married Charles Crouch on 8 Mar 1851 at Henlow, Bedfordshire. Fathers named as Thomas Crouch and John Mabbott.^[3]
