According to their marriage registration James MacIntyre son of Archibald (Cape Mabou) married Mary MacLellan daughter of Donald (South West Margaree) on Oct 11, 1868.[1]
In 1871 Archibald McIntyre (68) is listed with wife Sarah (60) and their family; James (27), Mary (23 is James' wife), Donald (20), Margaret (22), Ann (24), Dolly (27), Suzy (28).[2]
James McIntyre (36) is listed on the 1881 census with wife Mary (30) and their children; Hugh (8), Donald (5), Mary (3), Archibald (2) and Sarah (0.. less than a year).[3] Next door and on the previous page is brother John (42) with family and their father Archibald (84) with unwed siblings.
There exists a possible death registration but it states James was Single.. as an 80 year old man perhaps he was?[4] The clue here is he is listed as a Cooper on both the census and the death registration. We can assume he was single via his wife passing years before him.
