Biography

Máel was the 144th High King of Ireland and belonged to the Cenél Conaill branch of the northern Uí Néill.

He was the son of Áed mac Ainmuire.

He had two sons who were counted as joint High Kings

Cellach mac Máele Coba (-abt.0658)
Conall Máel Coba (-abt.0654)

Dúnchad mac Cinn Fáelad, abbot of Iona (died 717) is recorded as the son of Cenn Fáelad, and as Máel Coba's grandson.[1]

He passed away about 0615.
