Biography

Ainmuire mac Sétnai AKA Ainmire or Ainmere was the 138th High King of Ireland A member of the Cenél Conaill branch of the Uí Néill. He and his brother Ninnid where the sons of Sétna[1] grandson of Conall Gulban mac Niall (abt.0400-abt.0464), founder of this branch.

Ainmere married Brigid ingen Cobthaig of the Uí Cheinnselaig[2] together they had

son Áed Dub[3]

He passed away in 0569.[4]

    • AU 543.2 The battle of Slicech, in which Eógan Bél, king of Connacht, fell. Forgus and Domnall, two sons of Mac Erca, were victors, and Ainmire son of Sétna and Ninnid son of Sétna'.
