Jeremiah "Jurian" George Mandeville and his twin brother "Matthew" Mattheus were baptized on August 17, 1726, in Greenwich, Manhattan Island, New York to Yellis Mandeville and Rachel Hopper.
Regarding his name, Akerly notes that, while he was baptized as Jurian, he is called Gerard in the record of his 1749 marrage to Dorothea Vander Hoef, and elsewhere Jurgen. He is apparently the son Jeremiah named in his father's will, perhaps from the Dutch nickname Jurrie. He is called Jeremiah in various deeds conveying his father's estate.[1]
He married Dorothea Vanderhoef on 14 March 1749 in New York. They had four children during their marriage. He died as a young father in 1755 in Claverack, New York, at the age of 29.
Jeremiah "Jurian" George Mandeville was born before August 17, 1726 (Baptism date), in Greenwich, New York, to Rachel Hopper, age 23, and Yellis Mandeville, age 26.
Jurian and his twin brother were baptized 17 August 1726 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York.[2][3][1]
Jeremiah married Dorothea Vanderhoef in New York on March 14, 1749, when he was 22 years old.[1]
Jeremiah died in 1755 in Claverack, New York, when he was 29 years old.
