Biography

The daughter of Joseph Marshall and Sarah (Sinclair) Marshall, Mary was born in Livingston County, New York in 1814. She married George Bishop (1809-1886) around 1837. They made their home initially in Avon Township, in Genesee County, New York.[1][2][3] Their children included:

  1. Marietta Cornelia (Bishop) Welles (1838-1929)
  2. Louisa M. Bishop (1839-1941)
  3. Thomas (1840-bef. 1850)
  4. Francis A. (1842-1875)
  5. William F. (1843-1875)

Sometime before 1870, they migrated west, to Michigan, settling in Marengo Township, Calhoun County.[4][5] Mary passed away in 1883 and is buried at Oakridge Cemetery (Lot # 113, Sec. B, New Grounds) in Marshall, Michigan.[6]
