Biography

Martha Elizabeth Mathews was was born on 14 October 1868 at Salisbury, South Australia. She was the daughter of Thomas Mathews and Elizabeth Pretty.^[1]

On 18 July 1898, Martha married Albert Henry Hutton at the Wesleyan Church, Minlaton, South Australia. Martha was 30 and Albert 32 years old.^[2]

Martha and Albert had one child, Albert Austin Hutton, who was born in 1901 in Geraldton, Western Australia.

The following notice appeared in the South Australian Register (Adelaide, SA : 1839 - 1900) on 7 February 1901:

HUTTON.— On the 20th January, at Geraldton, the wife of Albert H. Hutton, of Island Lake Austin, W.A.— a son.^[3]

Albert Henry died on 11 August 1932 at Clarence Park, South Australia. He was 66 years old.^[4]

Martha died 19 years later, on 25 July 1951, also at Clarence Park, South Australia, She was 82 years old.^[5]

The following notice appeared in The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1931 - 1954) on 26 July 1951:

HUTTON-— On July 25, at hospital, Martha Elizabeth, widow of Albert Henry Hutton, and dear loved mother of Albert Austin Hutton. Aged 82 years.^[6]
