Biography

Nicolaus was born in 1749 in Öschingen. He was the son of Hans Michael Mauser and Agatha.[1]

Nicholas Mauser, son of Hans Michael and Agatha Mouser, emigrated to Philadelphia in 1751 with his parents and older sibilngs. He served with other German neighbors in the Berks Co. militia during the Revolution. Married Catherine Henninger, ca. 1772. Lived in Berks Co., moved to Northumberland Co. Next to his stone grave marker is a small metal plaque inscribed "War of 1776." Findagrave volunteer believes he is not in this cemetery, since it's all 20th century burials. He also searched the "other" St. James Episcopal cemetery---they are 19th-century burials.[2]

  • Fact: Burial Saint James Cemetery, Montour County, Pennsylvania, USA
