Pike county Court May Term 1881
The Last will of David Maynard ___ having been field on the 29 day of March 1881 and continued until the April Term 1881 and then continued until the May Term 1881 and was then read in open court and offered to be probated and ___ by the oath of Hibbard Williamson one of the subscribing witnesses to said will who was duly sworn and testified that said will was read to said David Maynard and that he signed the same and acknowledged the same to be his last will and act in the presence of said H Williamson and Jeremiah Asbanson the other subscribing witness to said will which proff [proof] was heard by the court and the said will was probated and ordered of record in the Proper book.

Know all men that I DAVID MAYNARD do make this my last will and testament revoking all other wills heretofore made by me whatso to say
First, I will that all my just debts and funeral expense be paid.
Second, I will that RANSOM MAYNARD my son have all that part of my land that I have heretofore marked out to him beginning at the branch at the forks of the Bussing fork of Naccaan Creek and running up the center of the pond to the top of the hill then Beginning at the Beginning and running down hill to the creek to opposite my stable thence running strait up the hill at the end of the field and the right hand side of said creek as you go down to the top of the hill and to include all the land I own on the lower side of said line. Said land adjoins the land of Henry Heluys on the upper end and on the lower side on the lands of Calvin Taylor and Randolph McCoy, Jam. Charles & Jimmy Minis.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son DECATOR MAYNARD all the land I own from the line made in the land I give to Ransom Maynard on the left hand fork of the Bussing fork of Naceann Creek. Said land is adjacent the land of Ransom Taylor Daven land on the upper end, that is to say that the said Decator Mayard and Ransom Maynard my two sons is to take good care of one and raise all necessary food ___ and provide all food for any and all property that I have or shall have during my life and if they fale [fail] to do and take care of me and my stock they are to forfeit this part of my estate.
Fourthly, I have hereto given to MOSES Maynard, ALLEN Maynard, THOMAS Maynard, YOUNG Maynard CYNTHE Maynard, NANCY Maynard, ROSEANN Maynard, JANE Maynard, WASH Maynard, and LINSEY Maynard all that I intend for them to have.
Lastly, I appoint Allen Maynard my Executor to carry this my last will and testament into effect. Signed, sealed in the present of Hibbard Williamson & Jeremiah Asbam this 20th day of July 1876.
