Biography

Margaret McClure was born about 1757.^[1][2]

Margaret married a Lee. Emigrated to the south. [1]^[1]

March 16, 1768. (504) Thomas Dryden appointed guardian to Margaret McClure, infant orphan of Nathaniel McClure.^[3]

McClure vs. McClure.- Chancery. Writ, 30th June, 1773. Oratrix Mar garet McClure, an infant, by Thomas Dryden, her guardian, daughter of Mary McClure, deceased, with will dated 10th September, 1767. Oratrix had brothers and sisters. Halbert McClure qualified as administrator and died and his widow, Mary, qualified. Suit for accounting. ^[4] Margaret would have been underage when her mother, Mary McClure died. I found another legal reference that listed several children as the deceased as infants, so "baby" is probably not the right interpretation. Her mother may have been a Dryden, and she had at least one sister, Dorothy, that married a Dryden, so this is possibly her guardian.

Research Notes

Upon creation of profile McClure-4266, she had McClure-1413 and Harrelson-219 connected as parents. While it is conceivable that McClure-4266 and McClure-1237 are the same person, there is currently no legitimate source on this profile and the parents have been disconnected. -- McClure-3513 12:16, 11 April 2018 (EDT)
