Biography

Margaret McConachy is believed to have been born in County Londonderry, Ireland around 1831 to parents Thomas McConachy and Margaret McConachy nee McComb

On 22 October 1841 Margaret arrived with her parents and family in the Port Phillip District of New South Wales, later the State of Victoria. Margaret and family travelled on the "Catherine Jamieson". Margaret's age is given as 10.^[1]

In 1854 Margaret McConachy married Andrew Clark in Victoria.^[2]

Margaret and Andrew went on to have seven children:

Thomas Clark 1856-1856

Margaret Jane Clark 1858-1835

Elizabeth Ann Clark 1862-1958

George Clark 1863-1863

William Clark 1864-1943

Isabella Clark 1876-1963

Margaret Clark died on 24 March 1916 at Creswick, Victoria.^[3]
