Event: Obit 3 JUN 1950. Note: The funeral services for D. E. McDonald, who passed away at his home, 103 Pecos Street early this morning will be held in the chapel of Anderson-Clayton Bros. at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. T. J. Doss officiating. Interment will be in the College Mound Cemetery. Daniel Earl McDonald was born in Kaufman County on December 25, 1874. Most of his life was spent in his native county, however he spent some time in Tennessee and Massachusetts during World War I working with the government. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was sexton at the College Mound Cemetery for several years and took great pride in caring for this. His knowledge of the dates and events of historical value in connection with this cemetery was amazing for a person of his years. His records will be of great benefit in keeping an accurate account of the burials at College Mound. He was twice married and the father of three children. One son and one daughter preceded him in death and he is survived by his wife, one daughter Mrs. A. R. Dawson of Garland; one grandchild, two great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Geneva Cook of Wichita Falls and other relatives. acute coronary thrombosis. Cause of death. [9]
